Blog Challenge #12: Beth's (Rachel's) Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

I have a potluck that I am going to for Winter Guard tomorrow, so I am bringing Beth's (Rachel's) Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. I am giving these cookies a 4 out of 5 stars. They were a little bit to cinnamon-y. I would half the cinnamon if I ever make them again. Here's the recipe:

Beth's (Rachel's) Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
Servings: 3 dozen

Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup butter flavored shortening (Hint: you can substitute this for 1/4 cup butter and 1/4 cup normal shortening)
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (Hint: I would half this unless you like a lot of spice and cinnamon)
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups rolled oats
1 cup raisins

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. In a large bowl, cream the butter, butter flavored shortening, brown sugar, white sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth. Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt; stir until the sugar mixture. Stir in the oats and raisins. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cooking sheets.
3. Bake 10 to 12 minutes until light and golden. Do not overbake. Let them cool for 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheets to cool completely. Store in airtight container. Make sure you get some, because they don't last long!

Have fun making these! Love y'all!!!

Blog Challenge #11: IDK

I am behind again. I will have to post like 3 extra posts. Ugh! Anyway, not much going on here. It's been a crazy week. I've been super busy (as you can tell because I haven't been posting) with school and I went to spend the night at my cousin Hannah's house. I had a Spanish test today and I have an Earth Science test next week. So much to do and so little time. That't s all I have for now. Love y'all!!!

Blog Challenge #10: It's soooooo cold!!!

'Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
Since we've no place to go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow'

This would be true if I didn't have somewhere that I needed to be. I have guard tonight which means that I can't stay in my warm blanket all day. It is going to be a lovely high of 25 degrees today. At my house it's really foggy and cold. Brrrr!!! I feel like this:
And I totally am doing this with my blanket haha:
To some people it's only like this outside to today:
But to me it's more like this:
I don't think so
So, stay warm and safe today! Love y'all!!!

Blog Challenge #9: Last Minute Post

It will be midnight in 6 min. and I am determined to post this before then. I'm so tired because it's late. I feel like this right now:
It's too much!!! I need to go to bed!
Anyway, today has been pretty good. The roads were really icy on the way home from youth group, but we arrived home in one piece which is good.
Well, it's 11:58, so I am going to end this post now. Love y'all!!!

Blog Challenge #8: “For never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo."

Yes, we are talking about Shakespeare again. More specifically, Romeo and Juliet. Written by William Shakespeare, this is a tragic story of two lovers that are destined to forever be apart. In my opinion, the story is kind of stupid. I mean, first of all, they fall in love in only one evening. Their stupidity shows up again later in the story when Juliet drinks something that makes her appear as dead without telling Romeo. Then Romeo, depressed because his lady love is "dead," turns right around and drinks a poison that kills him. Juliet awakens from her death like sleep and finds Romeo dead, which he wouldn't have been if she hadn't been stupid enough not to have told him what she was doing. Juliet, stricken with despair and grief, stabs herself because the man that she fell in love 3 days before, is dead. Talk about being committed to someone! Seriously, I don't even know what Shakespeare was thinking.
Anyway, that is beside the point. Even though the story line, in my opinion, is terrible, there are many quotes in "Romeo and Juliet" that I like. Some are even beautiful and inspirational. Others, I just like the sound of. Here are a few quotes from the book that I like:

1. "Do not swear by the moon, for she changes constantly. Then your love would also change."
2. "See how she leans her cheek upon her hand. O, that I were a glove upon that hand that I might touch that cheek."
3. "Parting is such sweet sorrow that I shall say goodnight till it be morrow."
4. "These violent delights have violent ends."
5. "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet."
6. "Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?"
7. "But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.

Here are a few humorous quotes about "Romeo and Juliet."

All of these are true in my opinion. Love y'all!!!

Blog Challenge #7: Shakespearean Insults

Shakespeare was a very brilliant man. He wrote 37 plays over his life. In many of his plays, he made up many words that we use today such as eyeball, puking, obscene, addiction, assassination, bedazzled, scuffle, swagger, uncomfortable, bloodstained, laughable, rant, dawn, moonbeam, torture, lonely, and many more (found on buzzfeed, com).  He also made up many insults. Here are a few of them:

1. "Thine face is not worth sunburning."
2. "A most notable coward, an infinite and endless liar, an hourly promise breaker, the owner of no one good quality."
3. "Your brain is as dry as the remainder biscuit after voyage."
There are many more funny insults that were created by Shakespeare, but these are just a few of them. That's all I've got. Byeeeee! Love y'all!!!

Blog Challenge #6: SO TIRED

I warn you now, this post might not make any sense at all, but I am sleep deprived at this present moment. It is 11:30pm right now. I am trying to finish my homework for school tomorrow. I forgot that I had a bunch of Spanish homework that had to be done for my class tomorrow, so I am rushing to finish it. I just finished, but now I am so tired. I have to wake up at 7am because my mom has something going on really early in the morning, so we have to leave earlier than normal. I am so tired. I'm listening to a really pretty song that is sung in Spanish. It's a really slow, sad sounding song. It's beautiful! I know it's in a different language (btw, my minimal Spanish 1 knowledge doesn't really help), but it is so calming. I love his voice!!! Anyway, I think I am going to go to bed now. After packing my back-pack, lunch, getting my pj's on, brushing my teeth, taking off my make-up, and making Mexican Hot Cocoa. Goodnight! Love y'all!!!

I'm feeling it guys. I'm feeling it.

Blog Challenge #5: Flour-Less Peanut Butter Cookies

Well, guys, I forgot to post yesterday, so here is my make-up post. As promised, I tried out the flour-less peanut butter cookies and I am posting the recipe. I would give these a 5 star rating. I LOVED them! They were a lot richer than normal peanut butter cookies, but still tasted like normal peanut butter cookies with flour. They were delicious and there is only 5 ingredients in them. Here's the recipe:

Flour-Less Peanut Butter Cookies
Makes 1 dozen

Ingredients:
1 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
2. Combine ingredients and drop by teaspoonfuls on cookie sheet. Bake for 8 minutes. Let cool.

Hint: This recipe doesn't make very many, so you can double the recipe as you desire.

I hope you guys like these as much as I did. Love y'all!!!

Blog Challenge #4: Shortbread Recipe

I made shortbread last night at about 11:30pm because I wanted to bring some to share with my guard team on Wednesday, but I wanted to test the recipe out first. It turned out to be delicious!!! They were soft, yet crumbly. I would give them a 4.5 stars. Here's the recipe for them:

Shortbread Cookies
Servings: 12

Ingredients:
2 cups butter, softened
1 cups white sugar
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups all-purpose flour

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
2. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Stir in vanilla; add flour and mix well.
3. Put through cookie press and form cookies onto baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes.

Hint:
If you don't want to make cookies, you can just press the dough into the bottom of a pan and cookie it in there until the top is a light golden brown. I made it this way and it cooked at about the same rate as the cookies. Keep in mind that I changed this originally 12 serving recipe into a 2 serving recipe.
(Posted on allrecipes.com by Sally)

So, I will be making this shortbread to bring to my next guard practice, except I have one other small problem. One of the girls in my guard is gluten-free. I want to make something that she can have as well because we are always eating in front of her. I have decided to try making flour-less peanut butter cookies. I will post the recipe tomorrow if it ends up turning out to be better than I think. Scratch that, I will post it even if it sucks because I post all of the recipes that I try, good or bad. Wish me luck! Love y'all!!!

Even to this day I totally do this! #lol #ineedtolearntotakebetterpics

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I know I already posted a post for today, but I just wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! to my cousin Emma (http://mylifeisinsane1.blogspot.com/). So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMMA!!! Anyway, that's all! :)

Blog Challenge #3: Music

I love music and practically listen to it 24/7. I like almost every single genre of music except heavy metal (aka scream-o), jazz (pretty much any music before the 80's), and the blues. Everything else is fine for me. I actually even listen to songs in different language such as Carlos Vives, who sings in Spanish; Enya, Julie Fowlis, and Celtic Woman sing in Gaelic (and some English); and Ailee, 2Ne1, Se7en, and miss A are in a genre called K-Pop which is Korean Pop. They sing in, obviously, Korean. There are so many other artists that I listen to that sing in a different language, but these are the main ones. Since I listen to so much music, I change my favorite song almost every week. It's a rarity if I have the same favorite song for longer than a week. At this moment, I have like 10 favorite songs. It can be hard to narrow it down. Well, that's all for now! Let me know what your favorite genres and songs are. Love y'all!!!

Blog Challenge #2: Bucket Lists

Bucket lists or more specifically "a list of things that one has not done before but wants to do before dying." (Found on merriam-webster.com) Everyone has them, myself included. I have so many that I can hardly write all of them. I honestly can't even remember half of the them. However, I have decided to write down the first 5 things that come to mind that I have or want to have on my bucket list.

1. Go to Scotland:
Ok, I really, really want to go to Scotland before I die. You might wonder why I would pick Scotland of all places. This is because I am part Scottish and my family comes from Scotland. I also haven't been out of the US before, so I am pretty much willing to go anywhere.

2. Write a book:
First of all, I have only finished one single book from the millions of books that I have started. That is kinda depressing, I know, but I am not very committed when it comes to writing books. Ask my cousin Hannah (http://onceuponafantasy.weebly.com/). You might say that I have already completed this because I have at least one book written, but the book that I did finish was a) really lame b) boring c) wasn't long at all d) etc. etc. etc. So, that does not count in my mind.

3. Own a hedgehog and a fennec fox:
This one I don't even need to explain. Look at these pictures and that's all the explaining you will need before you running to the nearest exotic animal pet store to get these cuties. Hedgehog - Hedgehog Baby - Black Hedgehog Baby - Fennec Fox - Fennec Fox Baby - White Fennec Fox

4. Fall in love:
What can I say, I'm a romantic (sometimes). I know this sounds totally girly and everything, but I am completely serious when I say I want to fall in love with somebody before I die. I have never been in love with somebody before. I mean, I love my family and friends, but falling in love with a single person that you want to spend the rest of your life with is a lot different. I want to really love someone. Chocolate does not count, people!

5.  Make every moment count:
Throughout my life, I want to make every single little moment count. I don't want to die thinking, I could have done this differently or I wish I had done something more with my life. I want to die, knowing that I have lived a complete life, no matter how short it is. That I have filled every single moment full of things and people that I love. I want to die knowing that I had a good life and enjoyed every moment of it. I know that I will have regrets and "what if's." If I died knowing that even through all of the hard stuff, my life has been pretty darn awesome, I would die happy. I would know that I had an amazing life>

Now, a challenge for all of you peeps. In the comments below, let me know the first 5 things that come to mind that you would like to have on your bucket list. Love y'all!!!

Let me know in the comments below if this is relatable for you!

Blog Challenge For Moi

You could call this my New Years resolution, or my New Years resolution for the month of January. I know that I never remember to post on here. I mean, I missed Christmas (btw, Merry Christmas, I hope you all had an amazing one), New Years Eve (hope you stayed up late), and New Years Day (Happy New Years, I hope y'all didn't pass out from sleep deprivation). How lame is that?!?! Anyway, I have decided that during the month of January, starting today, I will post a new blog post every single day no matter what. I warn you now that some days I will have absolutely nothing to say and my posts may be boring and short. I promise that I will try my best to make it interesting. If I for some reason I skip posting one day, I will write two posts the next day to make up for missing post. By the end of this, I should have 29 posts. I hereby accept the challenge to write 29 posts in the month of January (this being one of the 29). A couple of things that I will add into my posts will be as follows: recipes and my opinion on them; random, funny, and inspirational quotes and sayings; decor or craft ideas; helpful advice; random things on music (I love music btw and listen to a wide variety); and much, much more. Come back for more tomorrow and every day in January! Love y'all!!!

Since there are really no big holidays in the month of January, I will be posting lolsotrue, thatonerule, and Relatable Post quotes everyday! I will post the ones that I actually find true for myself. Let me know in the comments below if they are true for you as well. :)
